Palm’s Pixi Smartphone is finally announced

Are you a big fan of ipod? This is the time for you to enter the world of Palm’s new Smartphone, The ” Pixi ” which has finally been announced. It’s a good alternative to Apple’s ipod and is suitable for everyone but is mainly targeted towards younger customers and teenagers. It will surely add some value to their personality.

It’s a downsized version of Palm’s other Smartphone, the Pre, which was released back in June 2009 and therefore it lacks a few advanced features of its more expensive sibling. Few of the main differences are the absence of Wifi and a 2MP camera rather than a 3MP found in the Pre. The Pixi also has a slightly smaller screen size as compared to The Pre but this all equates to lower selling costs and giving Palm a new hope of getting more popularity among the younger customers.

Palm Pixi’s specifications:

Messaging services:
SMS/MMS, Email and Push mail.

Connectivity:
Ports – USB 2.0 High Speed, Infrared – not available and Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR with A2DP.

Digital Specifications:
Camera – Yes (2 MP with LED Flash) and zoom, Video Capture – MPEG-4, H.263, H.264

Entertainment and Technology:
Music Player – MP3, AAC, AAC+, AMR, QCELP, WAV and 3G (Available) with OS – Palm WebOS Platform.

Networking:
Operating Frequency – Dual-band CDMA 2000 and GPS – Built-in GPS

Kitting:
KIT – Handset, USB Cable, User Guide, CD Rom
Battery Weight – 95.5 gm
Charger and Headset included with No Speakers.

I think with these features, people are surely going to like the new Pixi smartphone. Please leave your comments, reviews and experiences regarding this product.
