Nokia has not officially announced the N9 as of yet. However, this phone is rumored to be in production and for sale in the 1st quarter of 2011. This 160 gram phone will be one of the newest devices that Nokia is going to make available with its slide-out QWERTY keyboard, four inch screen and eight megapixel camera. The phone is currently showing running Symbian, although that may change before it becomes officially released.
Nokia N9 specs
The Nokia N9 has a front facing, possibly a VGA camera that will be able to be used for video chat. The N9 also has a rear facing, eight megapixel camera that includes LED flash. The four inch capacitive multi touch display along with 802.11 g/b/n wifi and blue tooth connectivity. The eight megapixel camera will be able to record HD video in 720p. While some of these specs may seem difficult to believe in the N9, the Nokia N9 having a 1 GHZ Snapdragon processor is quite possible. This processor is being included in many other top level processors and is one of the fastest chips available to use within a smart phone.

Currently, the size of the hard drive could be anything from a small 8 GB hard drive to something the size of 64 GB or possibly larger. The hard drive is one of the few details that has not yet been set into stone. The phone is currently set to retail for 30,000 rupees in India, which equates to roughly $650 US dollars. While this is the price for the device out of contract, it is not yet known which networks are going to be picking the device up. The Nokia N9 may be able to be subsidized by the networks so that the device will be more affordable to purchase.
Nokia N9 review
The Nokia N9 is one of the best smart phones that is going to be released in the near future. It is planned to be one of the easiest to use slide out phones. The QWERTY keyboard will make web browsing, instant messaging and sending emails a snap. The addition of a VGA camera to the front along with the eight megapixel camera in the rear means that video conferencing is here to stay. While the Nokia N9 is looking to be quite expensive, most smart phones are outrageous when they are not being subsidized by some type of cellular carrier. Hopefully a United States based carrier will see the amazing features of the Nokia N9 and be willing to subsidize the price of the device. The Nokia N9 could be one of the largest releases of a smart phone in 2011. However, the phone itself will need to be finalized as well as given the final specs that it will be produced with. While the specs look great so far, they may become more amazing by the time launch day comes around. The Nokia N9 may be the smart phone to purchase next year.
